Review Methodology

Every resort, deal, and recommendation on Caribbean Resort Report is built on the same foundation: direct, Sandals-certified expertise — not aggregated reviews pulled from somewhere else and repackaged.

Where the Information Comes From

Sandals Elite Advisor (SEA) training
Direct certification through Sandals' own agent education program, covering every resort, room category, and current promotion in the portfolio.
Sandals' official resort and booking pages
Room details, amenities, and current promotional terms are sourced directly from sandals.com and verified against the live pages before publishing.
Ongoing monitoring
Sandals runs frequent promotions (the 777 Sale changes weekly), so pricing and offer details are checked and refreshed on a regular schedule rather than published once and left stale.
Guest feedback and industry sources
Review counts and guest ratings referenced on resort pages are attributed to their original source; we don't fabricate or inflate review data.

How Resorts Are Rated

Each resort review breaks its rating down by category — Beach, Romance, Food & Dining, Activities, and Value — rather than a single overall score. A resort can be a 5-star pick for a couples' getaway focused on the beach and dining, and a more middling fit for someone prioritizing off-resort excursions. Our notes on each category explain why a resort scored the way it did, not just the number.

What "My Take" Means

Sections labeled "My Take" throughout the site are exactly that — an honest assessment from a certified advisor who has studied every property in depth, not marketing copy and not a synthesized average of other people's opinions. If a resort has a real drawback (an ongoing renovation, a beach that isn't as good as the marketing suggests, a room category that's overpriced for what it offers), that gets said plainly.

Weekly Deal Updates

The 777 Sale section of the Deals page is rebuilt from Sandals' live current offers on a weekly basis (typically Wednesdays), since discount percentages, qualifying room categories, and booking windows change from week to week. Every other deal category is checked periodically against Sandals' official terms and updated when the underlying offer changes.

Editorial Independence

This site is supported by affiliate commissions — full details are on the Affiliate Disclosure page — but commission structure never determines which resorts get recommended or how they're rated. A resort with a lower typical commission is never rated worse to steer you elsewhere, and a resort we'd genuinely recommend against isn't hidden because it's a Sandals property.

Corrections

Sandals updates room categories, pricing, and promotions regularly, and while we work to keep this site current, an occasional detail may lag behind a very recent change on Sandals' end. If you spot something that looks outdated or incorrect, let us know and we'll get it corrected.
